Exam Pattern

1. State Services Examination will have three successive stages
(1) State Services Preliminary Examination (Objective Questions OMR Sheet based).
(2) State Service Main Examination (Written Descriptive).
(3) Interview.


State Service Preliminary Exam

2. The Preliminary Examination will consist of two papers of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions). Each
paper will be structured according to the following scheme:-
I. Paper I -  
General Studies ( 2 Hours - 200 Marks)

II. Paper II - General Aptitude Test  2 Hours - 200 Marks)


© This test is taken as an eligibility test only. On the basis of the marks obtained in this
examination, the candidates are declared eligible/qualified for the main examination
The final selection list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in main examination and interview only. Both the papers will be of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions). For each question there will be four possible answers grouped into abs and d, out of which one will be the correct answer. The candidate is expected to mark in the answer sheet only one answer out of the one or the other as decided by him/her to be correct.

© Each paper will have 100 questions of 2 marks each. The duration of each question paper will be 2
hours.

© Detailed syllabus of General Studies and General Aptitude Test for Preliminary Examination
are as specified in Appendix-II.

© Each question paper will be in Hindi and in English.

© After Preliminary Examination, after
preparing the key of the questions asked in the examination and its model answers , objections will be received within a period of 07 days through online mode by publishing it on the Commission's website www.mppsc.nic.in and www.mppsc.com

.
Candidates will be able to submit objections online by paying the fee and portal fee per question as prescribed by the commission .
No representation will be entertained after the stipulated period of 07 days . The objections received will be considered by the subject expert committee.
After considering the objections by the committee, action will be taken as follows:-

1. Questions for which a wrong answer is given out of the options given in the provisional answer key and other option is correct in the provisional answer key, then the provisional answer key will be revised  .

2. In case of difference between Hindi and English translation of the question, only Hindi translation will  prevail.

3. In a question which has more than one correct answer in the given options, all correct answers  will be considered.

4. Such questions for which there is no correct answer in the given options
will be deleted from the question paper.

5. After considering all the representations by the subject expert committee, the final answer key will be prepared and will be published  by the commission on the website www.mppsc.nic.in , www.mppscdemo.in and www.mppsc.com .
No objection/correspondence will be entertained after the publication of the final answer key The decision of the subject-expert committee will be final.

6. The results of the examination will be declared after  evaluating the candidates according to the final answer key on the basis of the
remaining questions except the ones deleted by the committee as above .

5. The number of selected candidates will be maximum 20 times category wise of the total number of vacancies  The candidates who have obtained the same marks (category wise) will also be declared eligible for the main examination  Only those candidates who have  been declared qualified by the Commission in the Preliminary Examination under the relevant advertisement will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination. To be eligible for the main examination , the candidate  will be required to obtain a minimum of 40 percent marks in each paper of the preliminary examination . The minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/  OBC and disabled category candidates will be 30 percent.

1. Paper II of State Services Preliminary Examination will be of qualifying nature only.
2. The marks obtained in the second paper will not be counted for the evaluation of the result of the preliminary examination
.
3. The syllabus of the State Forest Service Preliminary Examination will also be the same as that of the State Service Preliminary Examination
.
4. The merit list of the State Forest Service Preliminary Examination will be prepared by adding the marks obtained in both the first and second question papers .

Note: Test of questions related to comprehension skills of Hindi language at class X level, In the question paper
only through quotes in Hindi language. English translation will be done without providing
it.
